NAIDOC
Celebrations

   Window Art

Wontakalowa! That's 'hello' in the Awabakal language. We have been learning about and celebrating the culture of our First Nations People.
Through stories and art we have learned about Aboriginal symbols, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, and we created our own symbol compositions. Our artworks welcome visitors into our 'ngurra', our camp or special place, and they tell the story of each class member's own ngurra.
During NAIDOC day, we learned to weave bracelets as Aboriginal children would.
